What Sets Our Approach Apart?

TreePlanting

We Plant Right — The Right Tree in the Right Space

Planting a tree is more than just digging a hole—it’s about giving it the best possible start for a long, healthy life. Unfortunately, without the right approach, trees may struggle to develop strong roots, leaving them vulnerable to poor growth and disease.

At The Arbor Image, we’re passionate about trees. From selecting the ideal tree for your landscape to planting it with care, we ensure your tree has the foundation it needs to thrive for generations. Our expertise doesn’t end at planting either—our monthly tree health plans provide ongoing care to promote strong, healthy growth, ensuring your tree becomes a lasting legacy for your loved ones to enjoy.

Is It Worth It To Hire An Arborist To Plant Your New Tree?

WE THINK SO. HERE’S WHY.

Right Tree, Right Space

Not all trees are suited for Oklahoma’s clay dirt. We help you pick the best species for your soil, sunlight exposure, and aesthetic goals.

Reduce Transplant Shock

Proper planting and root care can reduce transplant shock for your new tree, increasing its chances of survival by growing stronger roots.

Proper Follow-Up Care

Soil care, watering, mulch placement, and follow-up care have a huge impact on root health and the early growth of your new tree.

Customers LOVE Our Tree Planting Services
HERE’S WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY

“They keep our trees healthy by feeding them, pruning, shaping, checking them and spraying them for issues when they occur, which has been seldom since they are caring for them.”

-Rebecca G.

“The crew was professional and timely with the tree removal. They were cautious to protect the surrounding trees and property. A+ company!!!”

-Terry G.

“Arbor Image is the only tree service I will use for my trees. We have a 100-year-old oak and many other mature trees and I wouldn’t allow anyone else to touch them. They are knowledgeable, responsive, and professional. Staffed with certified arborists that truly care. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.”

-Syden D.

“The guys were on-time and the work was done in a professional way. I had trees trimmed, one stump removed and general clean-up of overgrown areas of the backyard. The site was cleaned up and all debris hauled away. Would definitely hire Arbor Image again!!”

Common Questions About Our Tree Planting Services

Will you help me figure out what tree species will work best in the area I want to plant?

Yes, this is one of our specialties! The Arbor Image Tree Care team is passionate about tree health, and a major part of that is planting the right tree in the right space. If there’s a mismatch between the tree’s needs (soil quality, sun exposure, etc.) and the place where you want to plant it, we’ll make sure you know.

Do you plant flowers and shrubs?

No, we do not plant flowers or shrubs. We recommend reaching out to a landscape company or gardener to work with these types of plantings.

What seasonal care and maintenance do you provide?

We create full-service, worry-free, year-round tree care plans specific to your property. Because every property is different, there’s not a one-size-fits-all plan. However, we often do the following:

WINTER – It’s the season to protect from winter burn, sun scald, and pest hibernation. We do selective pruning to remove dead, diseased, and damaged limbs and inspect to discover issues that may have been hidden by the tree’s foliage over the spring.

SPRING – It’s planting and growing season! Aside from a proper watering regimen and mulching, we focus on curtailing pests, diseases, and fungal growth. There’s a lot to manage, including detailed trimming, soil conditioning, deep root feeding, and more.

SUMMER – The season is here to enjoy the benefits your trees provide. We provide care to help your trees endure heat, drought, disease, and more.

FALL – It’s time for plantings and season-ending preparation, which includes feeding, mulching, soil treatments, pest deterrents, disease prevention, and more.

Should I replace a fallen tree with the same species?

Replacing a fallen tree with the same species depends on the reason the original tree failed. If it was lost to disease, pests, or environmental stress, planting the same species could lead to the same outcome.

In these circumstances, it may be better to plant a more resilient species or one that thrives in the local Oklahoma City climate and soil conditions, which can improve long-term success. However, if the tree was healthy before falling due to external factors like a storm, replanting the same type can restore your landscape’s original character.

Should a replacement tree go in the same location as the old tree?

In general, a new tree should only be planted in the same location if the soil remains healthy and free from disease. The previous tree’s root system may have depleted essential nutrients, making it difficult for a young tree to establish itself.

Also, soil compaction and leftover root material can also create challenges for new growth. If the area is still suitable, refreshing the soil with organic matter and addressing drainage concerns will help support a new tree. Otherwise, choosing a nearby spot in your yard with better conditions can lead to stronger development.

Why is tree biodiversity important?

A diverse mix of tree species strengthens an ecosystem by increasing resilience against pests, diseases, and climate fluctuations. When a landscape relies too heavily on a single species, a single outbreak or environmental shift can cause widespread loss.

A variety of trees supports more wildlife, improves soil health, and enhances air quality. Different species contribute unique benefits, such as nitrogen fixation, erosion control, or deep root systems that stabilize the ground. A knowledgeable arborist from our team can recommend the best species to plant for long-term sustainability and ecological balance!

Where shouldn't I plant trees on my property?

Certain areas on your property pose risks when planting trees due to potential structural damage or interference with utilities.

  • Large trees planted too close to a house can cause foundation issues as roots expand over time.
  • Near driveways and sidewalks, aggressive root growth can lead to cracks and uneven surfaces. Trees placed under power lines often require frequent pruning, which can weaken their structure and reduce their lifespan.
  • Low-lying areas with poor drainage may also be unsuitable, as prolonged exposure to excess moisture can lead to root rot.

Before starting the project, a professional from our team will assess the job site, use the proper equipment, and determine the safest planting spots. We can also perform other tree work, like health care, to prevent future problems. In areas with heavy foot traffic, keeping enough space between trees and grass can help maintain a balanced landscape.
